Day 1

Cape Town to the Kapama River Lodge

Departing from the Cape Town Airport Mid Morning on a flight to the Hoedspruit Airport. The flight route to the Kruger National Park in the Mpumalanga Province takes you over the wide-open spaces of the Highveld, down the escarpment and through the scenic Lowveld region.

Arrive at Hoedspruit Airport, were you meet your safari guide and enjoy a 20min road transfer to the Kapama River Lodge. Check in for a light lunch. Freshen up and relax before it’s time to depart on a late-afternoon game drive in Kapama Private Game Reserve.

Overnight at Kapama River Lodge. Guests dine in the lodge restaurant or outdoors on the wooden deck.

Depart on a Early-Morning flight from the Cape Town Airport to the Hoedspruit Airport.

It's time for a break, so sit back and enjoy the good food as we serve you lunch.

Come with us on an afternoon / evening game drive in the Kapama Private Game Reserve. The light is ideal for photos, temperatures are cooler and the animals are beginning to become more active.

You're in for a treat when you stay at Kapama River Lodge, a five-star lodge inside Kapama Game Reserve. The stunning suites are decorated in soothing earth colors, with safari-themed decor and views out over the plains of the reserve. As part of your stay, expect outstanding service, fine dining (including a highly regarded wine cellar) and a large swimming pool.

Day 2 to 4

Morning and Afternoon Safari Drives

We'll wake you early for hot drinks and rusks before heading out on an early morning game drive. This private sanctuary protects up to 40 large mammal species, and early morning is when you're most likely to see them active. We might encounter lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo, along with giraffe and various antelope species. The soft morning light is perfect for photography as we explore the reserve's diverse bush ecosystem.

After returning to Kapama River Lodge for a late breakfast, you'll have time to relax by the pool or enjoy our spa facilities. Our stylish rooms with their safari decor and earth tones offer views over the wildlife-rich plains, making it tempting to simply unwind and soak in the surroundings.

Late afternoon, after high tea, we'll head out again for a sunset game drive with a stop for sundowners in the bush. You'll dine, enjoying excellent cuisine from our highly regarded wine cellar.

Final day with us

We will set out early for a final observation in Kapama Private Game Reserve. This is an ideal time to witness the vibrant wildlife, as creatures are active in the cooler morning air and the soft light enhances the scenery.

The serene morning atmosphere at the lodge offers a tranquil start to the day, with the gentle rustling of leaves and the distant calls of wildlife creating a symphony of nature. As the first light of day filters through the canopy, it casts a magical glow on the landscape, adding to the enchanting experience. Our service aims to provide a comfortable and immersive experience, ensuring that every moment is as delightful as possible.

Upon our return to the lodge, we will serve breakfast before it is time to depart. Mid-morning, we will transfer you by road to the airport for your flight back to Cape Town International Airport.

Kapama Private Game Reserve
