Introduction

Hoyo Hoyo Safari Lodge is a luxury ecotourism destination situated in the Mluwati Concession of central Kruger National Park. Its architecture reflects the vibrant cultural heritage of the local Tsonga tribe, with colorful décor, unique spa treatments, and captivating storytelling.

Day 1

Johannesburg - Hoyo Hoyo Safari Lodge

We depart from the OR Tambo Airport bus terminal in Johannesburg in a shared minivan. The 6-7 hour drive takes us through the highveld in to the lowveld.

We arrive in the afternoon at Hoyo Hoyo Safari Lodge, beautifully positioned by the Mluwati River deep in Kruger National Park. After a light lunch and time to freshen up in your spacious rondavel, we head out for an evening game drive. This is when temperatures cool, the light becomes golden and wildlife grows active. We might encounter lions, leopards in trees, elephants, or rhinos. The soft light is perfect for photos as predators begin to stir.

After sundowners at a scenic viewpoint, we return to the lodge for a 3-course dinner under the stars at the outdoor boma, a fitting end to your first day in one of Africa's celebrated safari destinations.

Activities Day 1

Morning

Collection from Johannesburg OR Tambo Airport Bus Terminal at 07:00am in shared minivan. Private transfer can be arranged at an additional charge.

Slow down and take a break as we serve you lunch.

Evening

Animals are out and about, the light is often perfect, and temperatures are cooler when you join us on our evening game drive in the Kruger National Park.

Tonight we'll be serving you a dinner to remember.

We think you'll love Hoyo Hoyo Safari Lodge, nestled along the Mluwati River in Kruger National Park. The lodge sits in prime wildlife territory, and elephants sometimes wander past while you're relaxing. You'll find a swimming pool, restaurant, wellness center, and inviting wooden terraces overlooking the river. The spacious rondavels feature high ceilings and warm safari tones, creating a comfortable retreat after your game drives.

Day 2 to 4

Morning and Afternoon Safari Drives

We'll start your day before sunrise with tea and coffee, then head to Kruger National Park for an early morning game drive. This is when the light is soft and beautiful, and animals like lions and elephants are most active after their nighttime adventures. You might see a leopard returning from a hunt or elephants emerging from the riverine forest.

After exploring the park in perfect morning conditions, we'll return to Hoyo Hoyo Safari Lodge for a relaxed brunch by the Mluwati River.
Enjoy the lodge's swimming pool or wellness center in the afternoon, or simply watch wildlife from the terrace.

As temperatures cool, we'll take you out for an evening game drive when predators begin to stir and the golden light is ideal for photos.
We'll pause for drinks at sunset at a scenic viewpoint before returning to the lodge, where a three-course dinner awaits under the African stars in our traditional outdoor boma.
