Baobab Ridge Private Lodge, situated in the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve, offers guests an authentic, affordable, and comfortable wilderness experience. Family-owned and operated, the lodge creates a home-like atmosphere with its relaxed vibe and welcoming staff. For those seeking the ultimate in private luxury, the entire lodge can also be booked exclusively.

The Klaserie Private Reserve is one of the largest privately owned nature reserves in South Africa and is part of the Greater Kruger National Park, with no fences separating it from Kruger itself. This setup allows migratory species to roam freely between the two areas, ensuring a complete safari experience in open game viewers in a region renowned for excellent game viewing.

Day 1

Klaserie Nature Reserve

You will be collected from the Johannesburg OR Tambo Airport at 07:00am and travel eastwards via the N4 motorway through the Highveld of Gauteng and Mpumalanga, to the Klaserie Private Game Reserve in Limpopo.

The drive may take about six to seven hours, and you will stop along the way for refreshments. You should reach the lodge around mid-day and have time to freshen up and relax before departing on an open safari vehicle for your first afternoon game drive.

After watching the sun set you will return to the lodge where dinner will be ready.

Accommodation Day 1

Baobab Ridge

Lodge Inside Klaserie Nature Reserve

Baobab Ridge Private Lodge is a small and intimate private lodge with only seven private free-standing suites that sleep a maximum of 16 guests. The main lodge features a bar and lounge area, satellite television, free Wi-Fi, outdoor terraces, guest bathrooms and a large dining room while outside is an open-air boma area with a fireplace and a swimming pool that overlooks the surrounding bush and a small waterhole.

Day 2 & 3

Klaserie Nature Reserve

Wake up early in time to enjoy a hot beverage and rusks before departing on the morning game drive to catch the sun rising and spot some nocturnal animals still out hunting.

You will return to the lodge for a late breakfast and can spend the rest of the day lazing around.

Your afternoon game drive will depart at about 16:00 and return after sunset just in time for dinner under the African skies.

The lodge is wheelchair-accessible and fully fenced to keep larger wildlife out. All the nearby suites are raised on timber decks with a clean, modern design, a private terrace and classic décor inspired by the African wilderness. Inside it sports luxurious fittings and fixtures, air conditioning, high quality linen and simple elegance in neutral colours where you can unwind.

Day 4

Final day with us

On the last day of your stay you will get up early too, enjoy your hot beverage and rusks, and depart on the final game drive.

After experiencing another African sunrise, you return for breakfast at the lodge before departing to Johannesburg. You will arrive at your drop-off point around 17:00.
