Day 1

Kapama Game Reserve

We will pick you up at 07:00am from the OR Tambo International Airport bus terminal in a shared minivan. Our journey takes us from Johannesburg's Highveld, down the escarpment, and through the scenic Lowveld region to reach Kapama Game Reserve by midday.

After a light lunch at camp, you'll have time to settle into your stylish safari tent at Kapama Buffalo Camp and freshen up before your first adventure. In the late afternoon, we head out on a guided game drive through this 150km² private reserve. The reserve, with high chances of encountering lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo, shares a similar ecosystem with neighboring Kruger National Park, offering excellent wildlife viewing.

As the sun sets over the African bush, we return to camp where dinner awaits in the lodge restaurant or at the outdoor boma, ending your first day on safari.

Collection from OR Tambo Airport Bus Terminal, departing at 07:00am in a shared minivan transfer to the Kapama Buffalo Camp. Private transfer can be arranged at an extra cost.

It's time for a break, so sit back and enjoy the good food as we serve you lunch.

Come with us on an afternoon / evening game drive in Kapama Private Game Reserve. The light is ideal for photos, temperatures are cooler and the animals are beginning to become more active.

Guests can enjoy the swimming pool, spa treatments, and excellent dining. The location offers easy access to some of southern Africa's finest wildlife viewing areas, making it an ideal base for your safari adventure. We recommend this camp for its unique blend of luxury and wildlife access. in Kapama Private Game Reserve, guests have access to 13 000 hectares of pristine bushveld that falls within the Greater Kruger National Park. Day 2 to 4

Morning and Afternoon Safari Drives

We'll wake you early for hot drinks and rusks before heading out on an early morning game drive. This private sanctuary protects up to 40 large mammal species, and early morning is when you're most likely to see them active. We might encounter lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo, along with giraffe and various antelope species. The soft morning light is perfect for photography as we explore the reserve's diverse bush ecosystem.

After returning to Kapama Buffalo Camp for a late breakfast, you'll have time to relax by the pool. Our luxury safari tents with their safari decor and earth tones offer views over the wildlife-rich plains, making it tempting to simply unwind and soak in the surroundings.

Late afternoon, after high tea, we'll head out again for a sunset game drive with a stop for sundowners in the bush. You'll dine, enjoying excellent cuisine from our highly regarded wine cellar.

Day 5

Morning Safari drive and return to Johannesburg

We'll set out for one last early morning game drive in Kapama Private Game Reserve. This is your final chance to see the wildlife of this beautiful reserve, and the soft morning light makes it a special time to be out among the animals. After the drive, we'll return to the lodge for breakfast before departing mid-morning.

We'll then transfer you by road back to Johannesburg, a journey that takes us through the South African countryside. You'll arrive at Johannesburg Airport in the late afternoon, where we'll drop you off at OR Tambo International Airport. If you need to be dropped off at a hotel or guest house in Johannesburg or Pretoria instead, we can arrange this for you.

Our vehicles

At The Kruger Safari Co., we use comfortable 13-seater vehicles for all transfers, trusted local airlines, and specially adapted open safari vehicles (depending on the lodge) to ensure the best wildlife viewing experience.

Transfer Vehicles from Johannesburg

Comfortable, Air-conditioned Toyota Quantum minivan seating up to 13 persons.
We use our fleet of Toyota Quantum's for group shared transfers to the National park from Johannesburg and Panorama Route Tours.

Kapama Private Game Reserve

Kapama Private Game Reserve uses fully open safari vehicles, each seating up to six guests (unless a different arrangement is requested). These open vehicles offer an unobstructed 360-degree view, allowing you to fully experience the sights and sounds of the reserve.
