Day 1

Johannesburg to Tremisana Lodge

Guests are collected from Johannesburg and driven to Balule Game Reserve located close to Hoedspruit in the Greater Kruger. Arrive mid-day at your lodge; settle into your chalet, freshen up and relax. We depart late afternoon for a 3-hour sunset safari tour of Balule Game Reserve. A real treat is a starlit dinner served at Marula Tree Boma which is located deep in the bushveld.

Tremisana Game Lodge

Lodge Inside Balule Nature Reserve

You'll explore the wilds of Balule Nature Reserve from Tremisana Lodge. Here you can enjoy comfortable accommodation in air-conditioned chalets and evening meals in an outdoor boma overlooking a waterhole that attracts plenty of thirsty wildlife. Balule shares an unfenced border with the Kruger National Park, which means you stand a good chance of seeing the Big Five on guided game drives. Between activities, relax around a freeform swimming pool in a luxuriant subtropical garden enclosed by electric fencing to keep out elephants.

Day 2

Morning bush walk and Afternoon Safari Drive

Early morning wake-up for hot beverages and rusks before setting off to a remote corner of Balule Game Reserve for a 4-hour guided bush walk along the Olifants River with an armed safari guide. Enjoy the sights and sounds of a real bushveld experience while keeping a keen eye on the thick bush for the Big Five and an abundance of antelope, predators and indigenous birds.

Return to Tremisana Game Lodge for a late breakfast and refreshments; relax around the lodge until it’s time to depart for the late-afternoon game drive.

Lodge Inside Balule Nature Reserve

Tremisana Game Lodge is located in Balule Private Nature Reserve which is a protected wildlife area that lies adjacent to the Greater Kruger National Park in the northern region of South Africa. Greater Kruger is a 180 000-hectare extension of the Kruger National Park, made up of a collection of 19 unfenced private game reserves where wild animals are free to roam across the vast wilderness region.

Day 3 & 4

Kruger National Park

Wake up early for hot beverages and rusks and then it’s time to depart for a full day safari tour in the Kruger National Park. We enter via Orpen Gate and spend the day exploring the upper-south and central region. Lunch break at a popular Kruger Park rest camp (your own cost). Return to your lodge late afternoon.
