Most of the ten chalets and rooms provide stunning views of the seasonal Sand River, allowing guests to enjoy sightings of elephants, hippos, buffalo, and antelope grazing in the riverbed. Day 1

Day 1 Johannesburg to the Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve

You will be collected from the Johannesburg OR Tambo Airport bus terminal by 07:00am and travel east via the N4 motorway through the Highveld of Gauteng and Mpumalanga, down the escarpment and into the scenic Lowveld to the reserve inside the Greater Kruger National Park.

The drive will take about six hours, during which you will stop for refreshments. After reaching the lodge around mid-day, you will have the opportunity to freshen up and relax before departing on an open safari vehicle for your first afternoon game drive in the reserve.

Back at the lodge a delicious starlit dinner will await you, weather permitting.

Day 2 Morning and Afternoon Safari Drives

You will get an early wake-up call and just have time for a hot beverage and rusks before departing on a 3-hour game drive to see the sun rising in the east.

On return you can enjoy a brunch and choose to spend the rest of the day at the pool or lazing around before it is time for an afternoon game drive with an expert guide, to return in time for another dinner under the stars.

Day 3

Day 3 Guided Safari Drives in the Sabi Sands

Enjoy a warm beverage before departing the lodge on an early morning safari drive. Your guide and tracker will spend time following up on spoor (animal foot prints) from the previous night, locating the animal movements and hoping to find members of the big 5. Return to the lodge for breakfast and spend the heat of the day in your accommodation.

You will meet your guide in the late afternoon after enjoying lunch before departing on an afternoon safari drive that returns back to the lodge after dark less has fallen, just in time for dinner.

Day 4 Morning Safari Drive and return to Johannesburg

Rise early, enjoying a hot beverage and rusk, you depart on your last morning game drive. After witnessing the sunrise, you return to the lodge for breakfast before departing to Johannesburg. You will arrive at your drop-off point at approximately 17:00.

Our vehicles

The Kruger Safari Co. makes use of a number of different vehicles, depending on the safari package reserved.

Comfortable, Air-conditioned Toyota Quantum minivan seating up to 13 persons.
We use our fleet of Toyota Quantum's for group shared transfers to the National park from Johannesburg.

As per government regulations, we make use of Open sided safari vehicles for all safari packages that stay or visit the Kruger National park.
